Sooo Faux!

The challenge this week on RCC is to use stitching on your project. I chose to use some faux stitching on these little Thank You notes. I like to give these to my customers with their orders to show my appreciation.

You can see here that I've used some matching twine to tie them to the order bag.

Life is Good {mojo monday sketch}

Round or Square? Hmmm... I think I'll choose round! It just seems more challenging!

I had the chance to pull out my lacy circles die and an older favorite stamp set, Tree tops. I liked all the layers on this card and the color combination of Sky, Indian Corn Blue, Olive and Chocolate.

Be sure to see all the lovely artwork on the Mojo Monday Blog!

H2H Sketch Challenge ~ Celebrate Trike

It's a sketch challenge this week on the Heart 2 Heart Blog. I flipped my sketch and let the background paper really stand out. Here's the sketch:

The trike was not stamped, it's actually just the background of the Lucky paper. I used ribbon and buttons for the 3 stair stepped elements in the sketch. Finally, I added a brad and a "celebrate" sentiment.

Check out all the artwork using this sketch on the Heart 2 Heart Blog and come back here tomorrow for another sketch challenge.

"Foodie" Card Exchange

If your "hungry" for some creativity, then your in the right place! This past weekend I hosted a Foodie Card Exchange. The goal was to create a card with some type of food on it. They were also encouraged to create a "shapely" card.

First up is the card I created. A sweet cupcake that is shapely and also slides to reveal the sentiment.

Here are the other creations by some very talented ladies!

Button It Up ~ RCC12

The Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog encourages us to "button it up" this week. I love adding buttons to my projects and the new CTMH buttons offer a beautiful variety. I chose to add the buttons first with hemp to a strip of cream twill ribbon. I then attached it to the front of a clear scalloped card. I love the peek-a-boo effect of the clear card while still adding layers of dimension.

Get Well ~ Color Dare

There is a new color challenge blog that "dares" us to use Close To My Heart color combinations. This is the second challenge using the colors of Chocolate, Twilight, Goldrush and Pear. My husband called me while at work asking me for a "get well" card. It's for a co-worker he said, so no frilly ribbons or flowers!! Here is what I came up with. My hubby was satisfied with the result.

Please visit CTMH Color Dare blog and play along with the challenge too....if you dare!

H2H Lace challenge

This week at the Heart 2 Heart Blog we are challenged to use lace or doilies on a project. I don't have any doilies or doilie stamps, but I have some beautiful lace ribbon. I created this little "thinking of you" card using the same color combination of one of the new paper collections found in the Autumn/Winter Idea book.

Please stop by the H2H Blog to see more lovely artwork using lace and doilies.

Mojo ~ Yoyo!

Today I'm playing along with Mojo Monday's 200th sketch! Wow, that's a lot of sketch challenges!! I really liked this sketch and was totally inspired by a card in the new Close To My Heart Autumn/Winter Idea Book. I'm also fascinated with the color combination of sweet leaf green, lagoon and breeze blues and a pop of tulip red on a neutral chocolate base!

Camping Memory Game

A couple of years ago I made a Camping Bingo game. You can see it here in the post "O" Bear! It was a big success with the kiddo's on our camping adventures. This year I've decided to add to our gaming collection with a memory game.

One of my customers had these sliding boxes left over from a previous electronic purchase. It was a challenge for me deciding what to do with it. It is a long box and the "drawer" is very shallow. Finally, I decided it would be perfect for storing the memory cards. Just like my bingo game I kept the theme strictly for camping, bear country style!

The back of the cards have a "wood" print and the words "A camping we will go". The reverse side has fun images with a stitched border.
